Kyra and Johnny : Temecula Engagements

esterday, Stephen and I met our close friends Kyra and Johnny in Temecula California for their adorable vintage engagement shoot. Johnny was a groomsmen in our wedding last fall and it has been a PLEASURE getting to know Kyra as their relationship has grown. I cannot say enough good things about these two. They are SO happy, completely in love, and some of the sweetest people I know. I cannot WAIT to be a part of their big day next spring! Yesterday was rainy, wet, and a very COLD day, but we bit our lips, bared the cold, and smiled our way through this glamorous shoot. The day was supposed to be beautiful, warm, and sunny but instead, we woke up to see dark clouds barreling in towards us. It was inevitably going to rain. Stephen and I pulled out our Dad's vintage car, saw the clouds and thought for SURE we would have to reschedule the shoot. After chatting with Kyra and Johnny we decided we were going to shoot in rain or shine. We weren't quite sure how the shoot would work out, but we couldn't be happier with the outcome. We drove through Temecula and pulled off the road to a gorgeous field of red flowers. We knocked the shoot out in 40 minutes and it was simply perfect. COLD but perfect :)  
 
I don't usually share couples stories, but because I know these two and remember hearing Johnny talk about this beautiful girl, I just had to share their story..... 
Johnny and Kyra never officially met until college but they had seen each other from a distance. It all started at Johnny's cousins football game. Johnny decided to drop by and watch his cousin play to victory when he noticed a cute cheerleader on the sidelines. He told his cousin he should take her out on a date. Johnny's cousin never took Kyra on a date and soon Kyra would be graduating from high school the same time Johnny was going to be graduating from Point Loma. Time passed and Johnny found out Kyra was attending PLNU. He decided maybe he should contact that pretty cheerleader he had noticed from a distance and see how she was enjoying PLNU. So, Johnny made the move and "friend requested" Kyra on myspace. (Good ol myspace :) Myspace turned into texting and texting finally turned into a phone call. From there, it all seemed to work out perfectly. Four years a part in college and God still found a way to bring these two amazing people together. Love it!  
 
Johnny and Kyra, I cannot be happier for the two of you. You two are unbelievably gorgeous from the inside out and I truly cannot wait to watch what the Lord will do in both of your lives. Love you both!

It had sprinkled rain on us here and there but Johnny and Kyra laughed their way through the shoot. Kyra, you even look gorgeous through the rain.

I seriously felt like we had gone back in time to the 20's during this shoot. It was just PERFECT!
